Eleonore Fröhlich holds a Medical degree and Diploma in Biochemistry from the Universities of Heidelberg and Tübingen, Germany. From 1989 to 2002, she was employed as Scientific Assistant at the Institute of Anatomy, the University of Tübingen, where she finished her specialization and obtained her Habilitation degree in histology and embryology and anatomy. From 2002 to 2004, she was an Associate Professor at the Institute of Anatomy in Graz, Austria. From 2004 to 2006, she worked as Group Leader in drug development at the biotech company Oridis-Biomed in Graz. Since 2007, she has been the Head of the Core Facility Microscopy at the Center for Medical Research of the Medical University Graz and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Tübingen. Her research interests include the biology of differentiated thyroid carcinoma and, more recently, the toxicology of nanoparticles.
