Stefano Paolucci was born on March 2, 1955, in Italy. He was graduated from University of Rome “La Sapienza” in 1979 in medicine and specialized in neurology in 1983. He serves actually as the Chief of the Neurology and Neurological Rehabilitation Division, Clinical Laboratory of Experimental Neurorehabilitation and of the Transactional Research Line in Fondazione Santa Lucia I.R.C.C.S. of Rome. From 1984 to 2000, he worked as a Contract Professor of Neurology at the School of Neurology, University of Aquila, Italy; at the School of Rehabilitation, University of Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy; at School of Nursing, University of Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy; at School of Physiotherapy, University of Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy. Since 2001, he has been a Contract Professor of Neurology at the School of Neuropsychology, University “La Sapienza” of Rome, Italy. Since 2003, he has been Contract Professor of neurorehabilitation at the Master in Cerebrovascular Disease, University “La Sapienza,” Rome, Italy. He serves as a Member of SIN (Neurological Italian Society), SIMFER (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Italian Society), and SISS (Italian Society for Stroke Study), and of task-force for Italian Stroke Guidelines SPREAD (Stroke Prevention and Educational Awareness Diffusion). He serves as the Secretary of SIRN (Neurorehabilitation Italian Society) and Member of the Editorial Board of European Journal of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine and of Independent Ethical Committee of “Fondazione Santa Lucia IRCCS” of Rome. He has published extensively in the area of neuromotor rehabilitation especially in people with stroke, with more than 80 papers published on international scientific journals indexed in pubmed, and an H-index of 23.
