Santiranjan Shannigrahi graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur with a Ph.D. degree in physics in 1999. He joined as a Research Fellow in the Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), South Korea under Brain Korean Project in 1999 and initiated research in several key technology areas, including fatigue-free ferroelectric thin films for nonvolatile memories. He has experience in the synthesis of several advanced smart materials using chemical solution method and characterization techniques to understand in the science and technology of complex materials. Dr. Santiranjan joined the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), Singapore since 2001. His research interests include structure-property-processing interrelationships of chemical-processed ferroic and other functional oxide thick/thin films on semiconductors, design, fabrication, and characterization of different types of advanced smart materials for microelectronic, magnetoelectronic, and high-frequency applications as well as microwave processing of ferrite materials for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding applications. Dr. Shannigrahi has published more than 65 papers in referred scientific journals and 4 patents. He is a Regular Reviewer of several international journals including Nature Nanotechnology, Jl. of Appl. Phys., Appl. Phys. Lett., Jl. of Mater. Res., Jl. of Electroceramics, Thin Solid Films, Jl. of Phys. Chem. Solids, Jl. of Eur. Ceram. Soc., and Jl. of Magn. Magn. Mater. He is a Member of Materials Research Society-Singapore (MRS-S) and served as the Symposium Coorganizer for AsiaNano Conference, 2008 and Local Committee Member of International Symposium on Integrated Ferroelectrics (ISIF) 2008.
