Sushant Kachhap received a Ph.D. degree from the Cancer Research Institute (renamed ACTREC), Mumbai, India, in 2001, for his study on BRCA1. He then pursued his postdoctoral study at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institute working on breast and prostate cancer. He is the recipient of the Young Clinical Scientist Award by the Flight Attendant Medical Research Institute awarded for his study on metastasis of prostate cancer. Dr. Kachhap is currently an Assistant Professor at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. His laboratory focuses on deciphering molecular mechanisms responsible for metastasis and DNA repair in cancer.
