Po-Whei Huang

Po-Whei Huang received his B.S. degree in applied mathematics from National Chung Hsing University (Taiwan), the M.S. degree in mathematics from Texas Tech University (Lubbock, Texas), and the Ph.D. degree in computer science from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, Tex) in 1989. He had served as an Associate Professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics at National Chung Hsing University from 1991 to 1997. Since 1998, he has worked as a Full Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the same university. He has been serving as the Dean of College of Science at National Chung Hsing University since 2006. In 2007, he was elected as the Distinguished Professor of National Chung Hsing University. He serves also as a Fellow of IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology). His research interests include image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, medical image analysis, and image database.
