Levent Beder received his M.D. degree from the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Turkey, in 1993 and completed otolaryngology: head and neck surgery residency training in Gazi University, Faculty of Medicine, Turkey, in 1998. He received a Ph.D. degree in genomewide analyses on loss of heterozygosity in head and neck cancers from Okayama University, Japan, in 2006. He was awarded the JSPS postdoctoral Fellowship for Foreign Researchers in Japan and joined Wakayama Medical University for postdoctoral studies on metastasis suppressor gene candidates of head and neck cancers in 2006. Currently, he has been working as Instructor Otolaryngologist and is continuing his research activities on metastasis suppressor gene candidates and the role of microRNAs on metastasis in head and neck cancers at the Department of Otolaryngology, Wakayama Medical University, Japan.
