Rongling Wu

User Biography : Prof Rongling Wu Rongling Wu trained in genetics at the University of Washington, where he received his Ph.D. in 1995. He is now intrigued by the development of statistical models for genetic and genomic research in plants, animals and humans. He brings together cutting-edge research across a broad spectrum of biological subjects, including genetics, developmental biology, physiology, and biomedicine, through mathematical and statistical bridges. He established an interdisciplinary program in statistical genetics and systems biology at the University of Florida, which provides a forum for faculty, postdoctorates and graduate students to exchange their ideas and thoughts and create an atmosphere of creative research. More recently, he has accepted a new position at Pennsylvania State University to direct a newly launched Center for Statistical Genetics from which he is able to expand his research ideas into a broader scientific community. Rongling Wu is a frequent reviewer for almost 70 professional journals in statistics, biology, genetics, agriculture, and forestry, and is now serving on Editorial Boards for several statistical, genetic and bioinformatics journals. His research is supported by NSF, NIH, USDA, and DOE.
