Iqbal Ahmad, a holder of the B.S., M.S., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees, is a Chief Scientist and Professor at CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicological Research, Lucknow, India. He has 35 years of research experience in the areas of pesticide development and pesticide safety evaluation; medical entomology (insecticide resistance); environmental safety assessment of pollutants; occupational safety assessment of pollutants particularly asbestos; toxicity evaluation of nanomaterials. He also has 25 years of administrative experience of R&D management in the area of toxicology (environmental and occupational toxicology; nanotoxicology). He received several awards such as Bharat Jyoti Award; Best Citizens of India Award; Ittehad Foundation of India Award; International Gold Star Award; Glory of India Award; Bharat Gaurav Award; Medal of Excellence in R&D by CSIR-IITR, India. He served as Member of ILO convention 62 on Asbestos and chaired 13 scientific sessions in international and national conferences.
