Behnam Hashemi

Behnam Hashemi received his B.S. degree in applied mathematics from Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran in 2004. He received both his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in applied mathematics from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Tehran, Iran in 2006 and 2010, respectively. His Ph.D. thesis was on efficient computation of guaranteed error bounds for solutions of matrix equations. Since fall 2010, he has been an Assistant Professor of applied mathematics at Shiraz University of Technology. His research interests include numerical linear algebra, self-validating numerical methods, interval analysis, and fuzzy set theory. Dr. Hashemi has been a referee for more than 10 international scientific journals. He is currently a DAAD Scholar visiting the scientific computing group at Bergische Universitaet Wuppertal, Wuppertal, Germany.
