Javier Dufour received B.S. (1990) and Ph.D. (1995) degrees in chemical sciences, with emphasis on industrial chemistry and he serves as an Associate Professor at Rey Juan Carlos University and Head of the Energy Systems Analysis Unit of Institute IMDEA Energy (Spain). His research lines are hydrogen production in membrane reactors, systems analysis, life cycle assessment and management of processes and products, simulation and optimization of processes, and economical estimations. He is author or coauthor of more than 50 papers published on international journals, 90 contributions to national and international conferences and congresses and 3 patents. He has collaborated in 52 research projects (5 international) with public and private funding, being responsible researcher for 17 of them. He was awarded with the AETEPA award for the best research work in the paintings field presented at the EUROCOAT 94 conference. Currently, he is Coordinator of the Ph.D. Programme on Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Rey Juan Carlos University and Chairman of the Spanish Network for Life Cycle Assessment.
