Liangxiong Li is currently a Senior Research Scientist at Petroleum Recovery Research Center (PRRC) of New Mexico Tech, Socorro, NM, USA. He earned the B.S. degree in chemistry science from Hubei University, Wuhan, China, M.S. degree in petroleum engineering from the Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development (RIPED), Beijing, China, and Ph.D. degree in material engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, Socorro, NM, USA. He is the recipient of Langmuir Award for 2005. His research focuses on novel material development and application for EOR including preformed particle gel and nanoparticle-stabilized CO2 foam, gas and liquid transport in confined space, and development of novel material and process for water purification. He worked for Petro-China as a Research Engineer in water shutoff before joining the PRRC.
