Tai-Peng Tsai

Tai-Peng Tsai was born in Taipei in 1969. He received the B.S. degree from National Taiwan University in 1991 and the Ph.D. degree from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA in 1998. He served as a Courant Instructor at the New York University from 1998 to 2001, and a Member at the Institute for Advanced Study from 2001 to 2002. He joined the University of British Columbia as an Assistant Professor in 2002, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2005 and Professor in 2010, respectively. He is mainly interested in asymptotics and singularities of solutions of partial differential equations of fluid and quantum mechanics. In 2006, he was recipient of the Andre-Aisenstadt Prize from the Centre de Recherches Mathematiques, Montreal.
