Pia Raanani

Pia Raanani was born in Tel-Aviv, Israel in 1960. She received the B.S. degree (cum laude) and the M.D degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1984 and 1986, respectively. In 1992, she received her specialist certification in internal medicine and in 1995 in hematology. In 1990, she graduated the postgraduate medical school of the Faculty of Medicine in the Tel-Aviv University. In 1996- 1997, she is an expert in the Hammersmith Hospital/ the Royal postgraduate Medical School in London in the Hematology- Leukemia Research Unit in the field of minimal residual disease. In 2006, she joined the Cochrane Collaboration as Editor in the Cochrane Haematological Malignancies Group (CHMG). Between 2007 and 2010, she was Representative of the Senior Lecturers in the Senate of the Tel-Aviv University. Since 2008, she is a Member in the Committee for Research Funds in the Tel-Aviv University. In 2009, she joined the editorial board of the Harefuah, the journal of the Israel Medical Association. In 2010, she was nominatetd as Clinical Associate Professor in hematology in the Tel-Aviv University. Since 2010, she is acting as the Head of the Hematology Department of the Tel-Aviv University. In 2011, she joined as a Member the Committee of Cancer Research Biology Center of the Tel-Avivi University. Raanani is the Head of the Hemato-Oncology Hospitalization Unit of the Institute of Hematology in the Davidoff cancer Center in the Rabin Medical Center. Her main field of interest is in hemato-oncology, mainly leukemia and lymphoma and she received several grants for research in the field. Professor Raanani is member in Israeli Society of Hematology and blood transfusion, in the American Society of Hematology and in the European Hematology Association
