Seyed Amir Ghiasian

Dr. Ghiasian has about 20 years experience in Medical Mycology and mycotoxicology and is the author of some scientific publications in these fields. He received his Ph.D. degree in Medical Mycology with Professor Parivash Kord-bacheh and Professor Seyed Mahdy Rezayat at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (2002). In order to get more experience in the field of mycotoxigenic fungi and mycotoxicology, he did some projects in the laboratories of Professor Walter F. O. Marasas as well as mycotoxin analysis, especially mycotoxins fumonisins, under supervision of Dr. Gordon Shephard at the PROMEC Unit of the South African Medical Research Council (MRC) during 2001-2002. Then, he focused on determination of Mycotoxigenic Fungi and Mycotoxins in different substrates (Food and Feed) in Iran. Currently, Dr. Ghiasian is Professor of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences and Health Services and is also involved in the teaching of medical mycology to post-graduate medical students (residents of dermatology and pathology), undergraduate medical students, and other allied fields.
