Nobuo Kanazawa graduated and received an M.D. degree in 1994 from the Faculty of Medicine, Kyoto University (Kyoto, Japan), and was trained in the Department of Dermatology (Professor. S. Imamura). In 1996 he started studying molecular biology and immunology in the Department of Molecular Biology of Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine (Professor T. Honjo) and obtained a Ph.D. degree in 2000. He served as a Staff Member of the Department of Dermatology, Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine from 2001 to 2005 (Professor Y. Miyachi). Kanazawa spent almost 2 years starting from 2003 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Dermatology, University of Erlangen (Erlangen, Germany; Professor G. Schuler). In 2006, he moved to Wakayama Medical University, where he works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology (Professor F. Furukawa). He is an awardee of Galderma Prize at 2004 and Top Cited Award 2006–2008 in Journal of Dermatological Science. In December of 2010, Kanazawa organized the 35th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology as the Secretary General.
