Jozef Bartunek is an Associate Director at Cardiovascular Center, Aalst, OLV Hospital, Belgium. After clinical and interventional cardiology training, he gained the expertise in integrated physiology of the normal, hypertrophied, and failing heart as a Fogarty International NIH Fellow at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Mass, USA. He is a clinician with expertise in interventional cardiology and heart failure including cell-based therapies. He is appointed as a Professor of cardiac cell therapy at the Department of Tissue Engineering, Technical University, Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
