Ciprian Doru Giurcaneanu
Ciprian Doru Giurcăneanu was born in
Birlad, Romania, in 1968. He received the
M.S. degree from the Department of Control
and Computers, “Politehnica” University
of Bucharest, Romania, in 1993, and the
Ph.D. degree (with honors) from the Department
of Information Technology, Tampere
University of Technology, Finland, in
2001. From 1993 to 1997, he was a Junior
Assistant at “Politehnica” University of
Bucharest. Since 1997, he has been with Institute of Signal Processing,
Tampere University of Technology, where he is currently a Senior
Researcher. From September 2002 to August 2003, he was a
Research Fellow with the Academy of Finland. His current research
interests include genomics and lossless signal compression.
