Maria Gabriella Matera received a degree in medicine and surgery on July 22, 1982 (summa cum laude) and a Ph.D. degree in pharmacology and toxicology on July 14, 1991. Since 1992, She is an Aggregate Professor at the Pharmacology Section Leonardo Donatelli, Department of Experimental Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, 2nd University of Naples, teaching activities to medical students, dentist students, and postdoc students in pharmacology. Moreover, she is in charge of medical pharmaceutical service at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, University Hospital, 2nd University of Naples. She is a member of the Postgraduate School of Pharmacology of Medicine and Surgery, 2nd University of Naples, and a Member of Pharmacology Ph.D. College of Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, 2nd University of Naples. In 1986, she won the Academic Award for Discipline Biologiche dell'Accademia delle Scienze Mediche e Chirurgiche della Società Nazionale di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti in Napoli. She is a Member of Editorial Boards of Pulmonary Pharmacology and Therapeutics and Therapeutic Advances in Respiratory Diseases.
