Victoria Dutschk was born in Moldavia and studied mathematics and theoretical mechanics at the University of Odessa in Ukraine. She has a Ph.D. degree from the Technical University of Dresden, Germany and she currently holds the position of Associate Professor at the Faculty of Engineering Technology, University of Twente, Enschede, Netherlands. She is an expert in the Engineering of Fibrous Smart Materials and her main current research field is Interfacial Engineering which includes the study of wetting of surfaces, dynamics of rough surfaces and nanoparticles, modification of fibre and yarn surfaces, textile structures and finishes. She has published extensively in her area and collaborates with many worldwide scientific institutions.
