Stefano Vidoli was born in Rome on April 6, 1971. He has been the first recipient of the AIMETA Junior Prize 2009 in the structural mechanics field. AIMETA is the Italian Association for Applied and Theoretical Mechanics. He received a Ph.D. degree in theoretical and applied mechanics from the University of Rome La Sapienza, dissertation "Structures and control: continuum integrated models" (April 15th 2000). He is also the Coinventor of the international US patent "Two dimensional network of actuators for the control of damping vibrations." He currently teaches in University of Rome La Sapienza the courses of Solid mechanics and Plates&Shells (since 2008).
