Stefano Vidoli

Stefano Vidoli was born in Rome on April 6, 1971. He has been the first recipient of the AIMETA Junior Prize 2009 in the structural mechanics field. AIMETA is the Italian Association for Applied and Theoretical Mechanics. He received a Ph.D. degree in theoretical and applied mechanics from the University of Rome La Sapienza, dissertation "Structures and control: continuum integrated models" (April 15th 2000). He is also the Coinventor of the international US patent "Two dimensional network of actuators for the control of damping vibrations." Vidoli teaches strength of materials (since 2000), solid mechanics (since 2003), computational mechanics (from 2003 to 2004), wave propagation in continuous media (from 2002 to 2003), and plates and shells (since 2008).
