Raul Narciso C. Guedes
Raul Narciso C. Guedes was born in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in 1967. He received his B.S. degree in agriculture and M.S. degree in entomology from the Federal University of Vicosa, Brazil, in 1990 and 1992, respectively, and received his Ph.D. degree in entomology from the Kansas State University in 1997. Since 1992, Guedes has been with the Federal University of Vicosa after working at the National Centre for Training in Storage (CENTREINAR), Vicosa, Brazil. Between 2001 and 2002, he was a Visiting Fellow at Leicester University (Leicester, UK), between 2006-2007, he was a Research Fellow at the Biological Research Unit of the Grain Marketing & Production Research Center, USDA-ARS (Manhattan, KS, USA); between 2007 and 2008, he was a Visiting Fellow at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Vicosa and Senior Research Scholar at the Brazilian National Council of Scientific and Technological Development. Guedes is mainly interested in insecticide ecotoxicology and agricultural entomology, particularly stored product entomology. He is a Consulting Member of the Brazilian section of the Insecticide Resistance Action Committee, a Permanent Committee Member of the International Working Conference on Stored Product Protection, and a Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society. Guedes is also a Member of the Entomological Society of America, the Entomological Society of Brasil, and the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. He is also a Subject Editor of the Neotropical Entomology and an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Stored Products Research.
