Alamuru Venkata Rami Reddy Reddy obtained his Ph.D. degree in the field of polymer chemistry in 1983. At present, he is the Senior Principal Scientist and Head of Reverse Osmosis Membrane Division, CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemicals Research Institute, Bhavnagar, India. He has about 33 years of research experience in the field of synthetic polymers and membrane science and technology. He has 5 international patents, 61 research publications in various refereed international journals, and 3 popular articles. He has attended several national and international conferences and delivered invited lectures. Reddy guided 4 candidates for Ph.D. degree, 6 candidates for M.Phil. degree, and 10 candidates for M.S./M.Tech. degree projects in the field of synthetic polymeric membranes. Reddy's research areas include fouling resistant thin film composite (TFC) reverse osmosis membranes for desalination and wastewater reclamation, hollow fiber and flat sheet-based microfiltration and ultrafiltration membranes for water purification, water reclamation through submersible membrane systems, forward osmosis membranes, synthesis and characterization of high performance polymers like polyamides, polyimides, and polyamide-imides, and negative photoresist polymers.
