Dimitrios Papandreou is an Associate Professor of nutrition at the Department of Natural Science and Public Health, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. He received his B.S. degree in nutrition and food science from CUNY, New York City, NY, USA. He completed 2 M.S. degrees from Columbia University, New York, NY, USA. He was awarded his Ph.D. degree form Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Additionally, Dr. Papandreou is a Registered Dietitian (RD) from American Dietetic Association. His main interest is obesity in adults and pediatrics and related cardiovascular risk factors. He has published many studies and books. Two of his research articles were focused on vitamin D and type 1 diabetes in children and adolescents. He is an editorial member of many scientific international journals and he is the Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Nutrition and Exercise which is going to be launched in January 2015.
