Suhn Hee Kim
Suhn Hee Kim received the M.D. degree, in 1980, and the Ph.D. degree in renal physiology, in 1985, from Chonbuk National University, Jeonju, South Korea. As a thesis project, she characterized the renin-angiotensin system in fresh water turtle. Dr. Kim did postdoctoral research from 1985 to 1986 with Dr. R. L. Malvin at the University of Michigan Medical School, USA, and found the functional differences of multiple renin forms. Since 1986, she has been studying in the Department of Physiology at Chonbuk National University Medical School. She has also studied the stretch-induced Ca2+ release in Gerontology Research Center, National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA, from 1999 to 2000. She served as a Dean from 2004 to 2006. Her research has focused on the natriuretic peptide system and renin-angiotensin system related to hypertension and diabetes.
