Guowei Wei received his Ph.D. degree from The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada, in 1996. With a postdoctoral fellowship award from the NSERC of Canada, Ottawa, ON, Canada, he did research work at the University of Houston, Houston, TX, USA, where he was appointed as a Research Assistant Professor in 1997. In 1998, he joined the faculty of the National University of Singapore, Singapore, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2001. In 2002, he relocated to Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, USA, where he is currently a Professor of mathematics, Professor of electrical and computer engineering, and Adjunct Professor of biochemistry and molecular biology. His research interests include a number of interdisciplinary fields: mathematical molecular biosciences; mathematical biophysics; bioimaging; high-order interface methods; wavelet and local spectral methods for PDEs; nanodevices; quantum kinetic theory; transport theory.
