David Frommhold has an M.D. degree, with thesis: “Retrospective analysis of anesthesia caused maternal complications in obstetrics” (2003). Frommhold's clinical carrier can be described as follows. In 12/1998–3/2004, he spent a pediatric residency at the University Children's Hospital Heidelberg (Pediatric Board), in 4/04–5/06, was a Fellow in Neonatology, University Children's Hospital Heidelberg (Specialist for Neonatology), in 6/06–6/07, was a Fellow in Pediatric Intensive Care, University Children's Hospital Heidelberg (Specialist for Pediatric Intensive Care), and since 6/07, has been a Consultant for Neonatology and Pediatric Intensive Care, University Children's Hospital Heidelberg. Frommhold's scientific work fields and carrier can be described as follows. In 1990–1993, he performed investigation into the offsprings of a tetraploid birch, Forest Research Institute/Federal Research Centre Hamburg (Professor Kohlstock), in 1995–1997, characterisation of lipopolysaccharide binding peptides, Institute of Immunology of University Greifswald (Professor Schütt), research stipend, in 1997-1998, “ Analysis of anesthesia caused maternal complications in obstetrics” (thesis), Department of Anesthesia, University of Rostock, (Professor Benad), in 1999–2001, new tyrosinemia type I screening test in newbornscreening, University Children's Hospital Heidelberg (Professor Hoffmann), and in 2003“2007, molecular mechanisms of leukocyte recruitment (Postdoc), University Children's Hospital Heidelberg (Dr. Sperandio). Since 2007, he has been a Leader of the Microcirculation Lab, Department of Neonatology, University Children's Hospital Heidelberg (molecular mechanisms of leukocyte recruitment and Development of leukocyte recruitment).
