Nihal Ahmad holds a Ph.D. degree and works as a Professor (with tenure) at the Department of Dermatology in the University of Wisconsin (Madison, WI, USA). He has a dual appointment as a Research Scientist at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital (Madison, WI, USA). The research in his laboratory is focused on three major lines of investigation: mechanism of cancer development and identification of molecular targets for intervention, chemoprevention, and experimental therapeutics of cancer. Ahmad has published more than 140 papers and a number of book chapters and abstracts. He currently serves on several peer-review panels of NIH, DOD, ACS, and VA. He is actively involved in undergraduate and graduate level teaching and mentoring. He is an Associate Editor of Photochemistry and Photobiology and Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology. He also serves on the Editorial Boards of several other journals.
