Xing-Hai Zhang has been an Associate Professor since 2009 at the Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Fla, USA, where he has also served as an Assistant Professor from 2003 until 2009. Zhang held the position of a Research Associate throughout the years from 1997 to 2003 at the University of Illinois, Urbana, Ill, USA. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in 1994 –1996 at the Michigan Technological University, Houghton, Miss, USA, and a Visiting Fellow in 1988-1989 having the Royal Society Fellowship at the University of Durham, Durham, UK. He received the Ph.D. degree in 1994 from the University of Calgary, Calgary, AB, Canada. Zhang's areas of expertise include photosynthesis, molecular biology, biotechnology, nuclear transformation, chloroplast transformation, tissue culture, plant hormones, phosphorus nutrition, wetland plants, oxidative stress, microRNA, and molecular evolution.
