Etienne Baranoff

Etienne Baranoff was born in Romans-sur-Isère, France in 1977. He received his Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the Universitè de Strasbourg (former Universitè Louis Pasteur) in 2003 (Ph.D. thesis title: "Photoinduced electron transfer in triads based on iridium(III) bis-terpyridine complexes"). From 2004 to 2007, he was a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Tokyo, Japan, to study supramolecular liquid crystals and soft matter in general. Since 2007, he has been a Research Associate at École Polytechnique Fèdèrale de Lausanne (EPFL), where he develops new transition metal complexes for various light-related applications such as OLEDs, DSCs, and sensors.
