Monica L. Zilberman has studied medicine at the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (1986-1991), took residentship in psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry of the University of São Paulo (1992-1994), was Resident-in-Chief at the same service (1995), got a Ph.D. degree in psychiatry at the University of São Paulo (1997-1998), and had a Postdoctorate in gender and addiction at the University of Calgary (2001-2002) and a Postdoctorate at the Laboratory of Psychopharmacology LIM-23 of the Institute of Psychiatry of the University of São Paulo (2003-2005). Currently, Zilberman works as a Professor at the Postgraduate Program at the Department of Psychiatry of the School of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, supervising M.S. and Ph.D. students, and acts as a Reviewer for various scientific journals. Her research interests focus mainly in addiction, women, gender, personality, wellbeing, pathological love, and excessive jealousy.
