Luciano Beneduce achieved his Ph.D. degree in sustainable agroecosystems from Foggia University (2005). He has been an Assistant Professor in agriculture microbiology at the Department of Food Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Foggia University, since 2005. His teaching activities are in environmental and agricultural microbiology and environmental biotechnology. His research activities include wine microbiology (O. oeni, L. plantarum), food and waterborne pathogens (STEC, V. vulnificus, L. monocytogenes, H. pylori), wastewater microbiology (ammonia oxidizing bacteria). Beneduce is the coauthor of 27 publication on international peer-reviewed journals, 21 indexed under ISI-Scopus-NCBI. He has review activities at the World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, Annals of Microbiology, NJAS-Wageningen Journal of Life Sciences, African Journal of Biotechnology, and The ScientificWorld JOURNAL/Microbiology. In 2005-2006, he was a Guest Research Staff Member at the School of Civil Engineering and Geoscience (DGGE, FISH, microbial diversity), Newcastle University; in 2004, at the Italian Institut of Health (bioinformatics); in 2003, at the Center for Research in Agriculture (CRA) Fiorenzuola D'Arda (real-time PCR). Beneduce has also been a Member of the Italian Society of Food, Environmental, Agriculture Microbiology SIMTREA since 2004.
