Dimitar Sajkov received his M.D., M.M.S., and D.S. degrees from the University of Skopje, Skopje, Macedonia and received the Ph.D. degree from the Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia. He was a Research Fellow at the Flinders University from 1991-1998, working on clinical trials of pulmonary hypertension and sleep apnea. Dr. Sajkov is a recipient of the Australian Thoracic Society prize for physiological research and Best Presentation in sleep and physiology in 2002. He was appointed as a Senior Consultant at the Flinders University Medical Centre in 2002. His major area of research is related to pulmonary hypertension, influenza vaccines clinical trials, COPD, and sleep apnea. He is an author of over 30 peer reviewed papers and over 70 published abstracts. Dr Sajkov is a reviewer for number of major medical journals. He is currently the CEO of the Australian Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Institute, Director or Southern Sleep Service, and a Global ACCP Governor for Australia.
