Marek Pawelczyk
Marek Pawelczyk obtained his M.S. degree in 1995, Ph.D. degree in 1999, and D.S. (habilitation) degree in 2005 from the Silesian University of Technology, Poland. He is currently a Vice-Director of the Institute of Automatic Control at this university. He also gained professional experience at a number of universities in Germany, UK, and Denmark. His research interests include active control of sound and vibration, semiactive control of vibration, ultrasonic signal processing, and speech processing. He is an author of two books on active control, seventy journal and proceeding papers, ten user's manuals, and coauthor of three academic textbooks. He has served as a reviewer for several international journals and book publishers. He also closely cooperates with international industrial companies. He is a coauthor of several projects including ultrasonic monitoring of petroleum fractions, and supervisory systems localizations, which are commercially available. For his research, he has received many prizes from domestic and international organizations. Pawelczyk has been an active member of IIAV for many years. He has served as a Member of ICSV Scientific Committees for last five years, structured sessions organizer, and a member of IJAV Editorial Board. He is also an Associate Editor of Advances in Acoustics and Vibration and member of several scientific societies, like EAA, IFAC, PTA, and International Sar. He is currently the Chair of the Local Organizing Committee of the 16th International Congress on Sound and Vibration to be held in Krakow, Poland, 5-9 July 2009. His scientific interests include active noise control, active vibration control, semiactive vibration control, digital signal processing, optimal control, adaptive control, process identification, computer control systems.
