Carlos J. S. Alves

Carlos J. S. Alves received his M.S. degree in mathematics from University of Lisbon (1992) and his Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics from Ecole Polytechnique, France, in 1995. His current areas of interest include numerical analysis, meshless and other numerical methods for PDEs, applied analysis, inverse scattering, inverse problems in PDEs, and imaging problems. He is a Member and served as the Head of the Department of Mathematics of Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon in 2005-2006.
