Messoud A. Efendiev was born in Azerbaijan . His Ph.D. degree dealt with the global existence of nonlinear BVP related to the pseudodifferential operators. His Habilitation degree dealt with the geometrical properties of nonlinear mappings and their applications. Since 2007, he servesa as a Head of Department of Dynamical Systems in the Institute of Biomathematics and Biometry in the Helmholtz Center of Munich. He was awarded by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (1990), by Japan Society Promotion of Science( 2005), and by Otto Monsted ( Denmark) in 2008. His scientific interests are mathematical biology, dynamical systems, PDEs of mathematical physics, topological degree, and its applications. He wrote the following monographs: Multifiels Problems (together with W. L. Wendland), 2003 Springer, Fredholm Structures, Topological Invariants and Applications, 2009, American Institute of Mathematical Sciences, and Finite and Infinite Dimensional Attractors for Evolution Equations of Mathematical Physics, 2010, Gakkotoscho, Japan.
