Subrata Mondal received his Ph.D. degree in polymer science from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom, Hong Kong, in 2006. Currently, he is working as Assistant Professor at the Department of Community Development and Rural Technology, National Institute of Technical Teacher's Training and Research (NITTTR), Salt Lake City, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Earlier, he has worked at various universities worldwide such as the National University of Singapore, Singapore; the Colorado State University, USA; the Monash University, Australia; The University of Queensland, Australia; and The Petroleum Institute, United Arab Emirates. His research has included polymeric membrane for waste water treatment, fouling resistant membrane, carbon molecular sieve membrane, polymeric biomaterial for soft tissue engineering, biopolyurethane, polymer biocomposite, and polymer nanocomposite. Based on this research and fellowship training, he has received several awards and honors, such as The University of Queensland Postdoctoral Research Fellowship 2009; Mrs. Cheung Chan You Fong Grace Scholarship 2006 as best Research Student, The Hong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong; The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's International Postgraduate Scholarship 2002 for Ph.D. Study; and National Scholarship in 1991 from Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. He is serving as an Editorial Member of several reputed journals like the Journal of Membrane Science and Technology, International Journal of Chemical Engineering, International Journal of Polymer Science, Journal of Chemistry, and Journal of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. He is an expert Reviewer for journals like the Journal of Membrane Science, Journal of Applied Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, and Science, and European Polymer Journal. He has authored 43 referred journal articles, 4 book chapters, and several conference abstracts and was coinventor of 2 USA patents. Currently, he is a Member of American Nano Society (ANS).
