Dequan Xiao

Dequan Xiao was born in Zunyi, China. He received his B.S. degree in chemistry from Sichuan University, Chengdu, China, in 1996. After that, he received an M.S degree in polymer chemistry and physics from Sichuan University in 1999 and later an M.S. degree in industrial chemistry from the University of Central Florida, USA, in 2003. In 2009, he obtained a Ph.D. degree in theoretical and computational chemistry from Duke University, USA, with David N. Beratan. After that, he started to work as a Postdoctoral Associate with Victor S. Batista at Yale University, USA, and he is currently an associate research scientist. His research interests focus on developing theoretical and computational chemistry methods based on quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics to study electron transfer, nonlinear optics, vibrational spectroscopy, and catalysis for the applications in materials chemistry, biophysics, soft matters, and renewable energy science.
