Arthur P. Wheeler
Arthur P. Wheeler is a Professor in the Division of Allergy, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn, USA. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, Md, USA, then completed training programs in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care at the Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn, USA. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the American Federation for Clinical Research and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. His research in sepsis, thromboembolic disease, and acute lung injury has resulted in hundreds of publications. He is the coauthor of a successful textbook of Critical Care Medicine now in its fourth edition. Wheeler has delivered hundreds of national and international lectures and is the recipient of numerous teaching awards. He currently also serves as the Director of the Vanderbilt Medical Intensive Care Unit and the Vanderbilt Clinical Coordinating Center, Nashville, Tenn, USA.
