Caroline I.E. Renner
Caroline I. E. Renner was born in Hamburg, Germany. She received the M.D. degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of the City University of New York, USA, in 1993 and. In 1991, she was a Research Fellow at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute–National Institutes of Health, Bethesda. Since August 2001, she works in the field of neurology and neurorehabilitation and in 2007 she passed the Speciality Boards in neurology and she received the prize of the German Society of Neurotrauma and Neurorehabilitation. Presently, she is employed at the NRZ Center for Neurorehabilitation, University of Leipzig and she is engaged in clinical work and research. She is mainly interested in the neurophysiological background (TMS) of motor dysfunctions and different rehabilitative approaches after stroke, traumatic brain injury, and Parkinson’s Disease.
