Guillermo Ramis-Ramos was born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, in 1950. He received his degree in education at the E.N. of the Balearic Islands in 1970 and his degree in chemistry at the University of Valencia, Valencia, Spain in 1976. Shortly afterwards, he became an Assistant Professor at the Department of Analytical Chemistry of the same university, where he received his Ph.D. degree in 1979, and also gained a position as Titular Professor in 1983. His main research interests have moved from molecular spectroscopy (thermal lensing projects, 1989–1994) to capillary electrophoresis, HPLC, and mass spectrometry (1994 till now). He is also interested in method enhancement and prediction of complex variables through multivariate data treatment. He is mainly interested in the development of analytical methods for industrial and environmental quality control.
