Neil Rowson works as a Reader in minerals processing at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham, Birmingham, West Midlands, UK. He got a Diploma in minerals processing and materials recycling, Sheffield City Polytechnic, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK, in 1980. Rowson received a B.S. degree in metallurgy from Sheffield City Polytechnic, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK, in 1981 and a Ph.D. degree from University of Leeds, Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK, in 1986. Rowson has worked also as a Project Manager for the Minerals Industry Research Organization since 2010. He has a research group of 14 Ph.D./B.Eng. degrees students and his research interests include acid mine drainage treatment, recovery of lithium from kaolin wastes, design and modeling of vertically stirred mills, and the recovery of rare earth elements from secondary and primary sources. He has published over 70 journal papers in the area of minerals processing.
