Prof. Rappenglueck received his M.S. in Meteorology (1991) and Ph.D. in Physics (1996) from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) in Munich/Germany. He obtained a Habilitation degree in Atmospheric Environmental Chemistry (2003) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). His appointments include: Research Scientist at the Chair of Bioclimatology and Air Pollution Research at LMU (1991-2001), Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Meteorology and Climate Research, Atmospheric Environmental Research Section (IMK-IFU), Research Center Karlsruhe GmbH (FZK), Garmisch-Partenkirchen/Germany (2001-2004), and Associate Professor of Atmospheric Science at the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Houston, TX (since 2004). Dr. Rappenglueck's research interests include: biosphere-atmosphere exchange, boundary layer processes and mesoscale meteorology, ozone and related radical precursor research, urban air quality and chemistry-transport modeling.
