Antonia Kolokythas received her D.D.S. degree from the University of Thessalonica School of Dental Medicine in Greece in 1995, and she joined the University of Illinois at Chicago Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1997. Dr. Kolokythas completed an internship and residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago between 1997 and 2004, where she earned her Certificate in Oral Surgery. Following her residency in Chicago, Dr. Kolokythas completed a Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology at the University of Maryland at Baltimore under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Ord from 2004 through 2005. The Head and Neck Oncology Service at the University of Maryland at Baltimore treats approximately 250 cancer cases a year for ablation and reconstruction. Dr. Kolokythas joined the University of California at San Francisco as an Assistant Clinical Professor, and a Fellow of Oncology, at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery between 2005 and 2006. Dr. Kolokythas joined the University of Illinois at Chicago Department of OMS as a full time faculty in 2008. She is a Diplomat of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
