Zhihua Cui received his B.S. degree in 1999 from the Mathematics Department, Shanxi University, and M.S. degree in 2003 from Computer Science Department, Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, China. On May 2008, he received his Ph.D. degree from the State Key Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. He is an Associated Professor at Computer Science Department, Taiyuan University of Science and Technology, China. He has authored and coauthored over 60 research publications in peer-reviewed reputed journals and conference proceedings. He has served as the program committee member of various international conferences and reviewer for various international journals. He has received the Excellence Scientific Researcher Award from Taiyuan University of Science and Technology for the year 2004. He has guest edited several special issues for international scientific journals. He has directed many funded research projects. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Bio-Inspired Computation. His research interests include stochastic optimization methods, complex system, combinational optimization, and data mining.
