Peter Adhihetty

Peter Adhihetty is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Physiology at the College of Health and Human Performance at the University of Florida. He completed his postdoctoral training at the Department of Neurology and Neuroscience at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City and his doctoral work at the Department of Biology at York University in Toronto. Dr. Adhihetty’s research is focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms that regulate the mitochondrial function in muscle and neural tissue. Specifically, his research is focused on mitochondrially mediated cell death and mitochondrial dysfunction in various human diseases and aging.
