Tak-Wah Wong is an Assistant Professor at the Departments of Dermatology, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology and the Director of Phototherapy Center and Wound Care Special Clinic at National Cheng-Kung University, Taiwan. He is also one of the directors of the Taiwanese Society for Investigative Dermatology. He received his Ph.D. degree from the same university and has been a postdoctor at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, Ny, USA. His research focuses on cancer research and wound healing. He is the first to establish a new anticancer therapy, photodynamic therapy, to treat skin cancer in Taiwan. During 2000 to 2005, he was awarded by the National Health Research Institute a 5-year Physician Scientist program that ended up with only 2 to 3 winners each year from the competition of thousands of physicians in Taiwan. He has been one of the outstanding teachers of the Medical College of the University. He is a Member of American Association of Cancer Research, New York Academy of Sciences, and European Society for Photobiology. He is also an active Reviewer of around 20 international academic journals, including Journal of Biological Chemistry, Carcinogenesis, Journal of Control Release, and British Journal of Dermatology.
