Claudio Letizia obtained a degree in medicine and surgery, in 1980, from the University of Rome La Sapienza, Rome, Italy, and a Postgraduate degree in endocrinology and metabolism (1983) and in internal medicine (1989) from the same university. In 1987, he served as a Research Assistant at the University of Rome La Sapienza and as a Physician Assistant of the Chair of Internal Medicine, Policlinico Umberto I, Rome, Italy. Since 2010, he has been a Representative Member of the Board of the University Department of Internal Medicine and Medical Specialties, University of Rome La Sapienza. His research interests include pathophysiology of essential and secondary arterial hypertension, adrenal and parathyroid glands, study of vasoactive peptides (endothelin 1 and adrenomedullin) and adipokines (adiponectin, leptin, resistin, and visfatin), and pathophysiology of white and brown adipose tissues. He is a Member of European Network for the Study of Adrenal Tumours (ENS@T) and Italian Pheochromocytoma/Paraganglioma Network. He is a Reviewer of Journal of Hypertension and Journal of Endocrinological Investigation.
