Diwan S. Rawat
Diwan S. Rawat received his M.S. degree from Kumaun University, Nainital, India, in 1993, and his Ph.D. degree in medicinal chemistry from the Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India, from the same university, in 1998. Rawat served at Lupin Laboratory Limited, Indore, India, and Panchsheel Organics Limited, Mumbai, India, and did his postdoctoral work at the Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind, USA, and Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind, USA. Rawat served as an Assistant Professor of medicinal chemistry at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, India, before joining the University of Delhi, New Delhi, India, in 2003. He currently serves as a Full Professor. Rawat has published over 55 research papers, and his work has been cited over 875 times with h-index 17. He has also coauthored a book and three book chapters and has five patents to his credit. Rawat has supervised seven Ph.D. and two M.Phil. theses and currently eight students are working for the Ph.D. degree. His research work has been funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and University Grant Commission, New Delhi, India. His research interests include the areas of the development of small organic molecules as anticancer, antimalarial, and antimicrobial agents. Rawat is also a recipient of CRSI Young Scientist Award (2007), ISCB Young Scientist Award (2010), and Professor D. P. Chakraborty 60th Birth Anniversary Commemoration Award (2007). He has delivered an invited talk at Nationla On Site Training (NOST) in 2010. Rawat serves as an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Drug Discovery and Journal of the Indian Chemical Society (Organic Section) and also serves in the International Editorial Advisory Board of Anti-Cancer Agents in Medicinal Chemistry, Marine Drugs, Research and Reports in Medicinal Chemistry, The Open Catalysis Journal, and Chemistry and Biology Interface.
