Takeshi Uchiumi

Takeshi Uchiumi was born in 1963 in Japan. He received his M.D. degree (1988) in medical sciences from Oita Medical University, Japan, and his Ph.D. degree in 1993. He was an Assistance Professor (1993-1994) at the Department of Biochemistry of Oita Medical University, Japan. He joined the Department of Cancer Research in Frederick, NCI, from 1994 to 1996, as a Postdoctoral Fellow. He worked as an Assistance Professor at the Department of Biochemistry of Kyushu University in Japan. Presently, he is an Associated Professor at the same university. His scientific interests are medical science, biochemistry, and clinical chemistry. He is a recipient of several prestigious national awards: Young Investigation Award (2000) in the Meeting of Japanese Molecular Target, Japan. He has written in excess of 200 reports, of which about 50% are international refereed articles. He trained about 8 students who did their theses under his advice.
