Hugo Garcia-Compean received a Ph.D. degree in theoretical physics from the Center of Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) in Mexico city. After spending two years as a postdoc at CINVESTAV where he was a member of Jerzy Plebanski's research group, he moved to IAS Princeton, where he spend three years as a postdoc in the School of Natural Sciences. He also held the position of Associated Member at ICTP from 2000 to 2006. Garcia-Compean specializes in some aspects of mathematical-physics related to string and field theories and also he is interested in integrable systems and twistor theory applied to string theory.
